LEADERSHIP CAMP ESSC

International Leadership Camp ESSC is a summer camp for children from Ukraine and other countries aged 7 years and older that provides engaging, fun and leadership-skill building programs for the youth. ESSC mission is to provide every school-age child with the opportunity to develop his or her personal, social and physical skills in a psychologically and physically safe environment, develop leadership skills and to learn English in a playful and interactive way with inspired tutors, including native speakers.

As we see technology advancing in the modern world and work market shifting, new skills are required to be able to succeed today. Soft skills identified by the World Economic Forum in Davos are those of great importance in adjustment to the realities. Skills like problem solving, critical thinking, analyzing information, creativity and collaboration are the ones necessary in adaptation to the current needs of society. ESSC program ensures that campers develop those skills while engaging in a creative, fun and collaborative environment with their mentors and peers. Opportunities to communicate with participants from other countries creates rich experience and cultural exchange between the children.

The camp started back in 2013 only with 20 participants and grew into 250 participants in 2018 over the summer months. The camp is held each year in June and July in two locations: Bila Tserkva, Ukraine, and the Carpathian mountains in the west of Ukraine. Many campers return to the camp every year as they love invaluable friendships and experiences that they get at ESSC camp. Children call ESSC “ planet of love” and I agree to believe so too. As human beings we want the same things: we want to feel safe, protected and loved. First and foremost, ESSC is the place of human beings creating for human beings. Everyone at ESSC is treated equally and with respect. The purpose of the camp is to create a safe environment so that children feel comfortable sharing, performing, acting and taking on leadership roles. ESSC is the place where personality is not judged in any way. Personality is praised and celebrated. And, ESSC is the place where every person, no matter talents, bad behaviors, mistakes and failures, is LOVED and celebrated. Every year we invite camp leaders from around the world to come and enjoy working with children at ESSC.
